In 1963, on a cold November day, the students remembered the President, John F Kennedy, being shot in Texas. The man taking his place would be Lyndon B Johnson, who would soon escalate the US involvement of the war known as Vietnam. The class of 1966 would be at center and forefront of all of these events.

On Saturday, August 13, 2016 the class celebrated their reunion—50 years. These people, all still young, remember like yesterday that this is one of the greatest years to be alive in America.

Class President, Jerry Riggenbach recalled many of the events that happened with the students through the decades. He also stated that Paulding, though sending men to be warriors in a foreign land, never lost one man to the battle fields in Vietnam—all came back.

Since 1966, the class has lost 18 people, mostly boys, to the sands of time. Jerry said, “One thing that’s different from now is we knew there were jobs for all of us as soon as we graduated.”

Barb Morris and many others made this class reunion possible. She stated that it started with a bonfire on Friday evening at her house with people that could not make it to the dinner on Saturday. Saturday morning they continued with golfing and canoeing. They had a great time in celebration with all of friends they have been for years.

In 1966 the class graduated 106 students. It was a fine class. The valedictorian was Juliana Bright and the Salutatorian William Robert Schlatter.

The West Bend News appreciates much to be a part of history of the class of 1966!
