The Woodburn Summerfest kicked off events on Saturday morning, June 11th with a parade by residents and area organizations. The parade included the Woodlan marching band, Woodburn Lutheran School, and Woodburn and Antwerp Fire Departments. Local businesses including Horizon Bank, Financial Partners, Heckley Auto were also walking along handing out candy to the kiddies watching the parade. The Woodlan girls track team were also there, they were the 2016 division champions. Clarence Reichhart was announced as the Grand Marshall. Following the parade, Summerfest continued in the park behind the Woodburn Community Center. Even though the sun was scorching hot, the dunk tank was a cool place for the person in the tank. The kids where having a great time getting treats from vendors and the music was playing in the tent while the games continued on the ball field. All of this taking place is what makes Woodburn a great place to live and work!
