In addition to Williams and Paulding Counties, GenFed is now able to serve those who live, work, worship or attend school in Defiance County, Ohio.

The approval came from the Ohio Department of Commerce, Division of Financial Institutions and is effective immediately.

“This will help us bridge the gap between the two local counties we already serve,” said Jill Shepard, a Member Service Representative from the GenFed Bryan branch.  Jill continued, “It’s exciting!  I have high expectations for growth from within Defiance County since we had to continuously turn away new memberships from that area prior to the approval.”

GenFed’s Bryan and Antwerp branches serve 3,800 member/owner/account holders and have $23,824,658 in assets. New members receive their first $25 deposit from GenFed.

GenFed Financial Credit Union is a not-for-profit financial institution that is owned by the account holders (also called members) and it exists for their benefit. Credit unions don’t have stockholders and are able to return any profits to the members in the form of better rates, lower fees and increased services. GenFed’s mission is to consistently “wow” every member/owner with superior service. GenFed has had the members’ best interests at heart for more than 75 years.
