Montpelier travelled to the Archer home court on January 30 for the game that would put Sam Williamson in the record books once again. The game started off as a close match between both teams when the competition heated up. Sam, in this period, was on fire—he was fantastic! He only needed five points to hit his 1000th career point, and with ease, he did this on his third field goal. The first period ended 12-13 with the Locomotives in the lead.

In the second period, the Archers posted the top points scored and was able to overtake Montpelier at the half, 27-22. One three pointer by Cole Seslar and two by Sam and two field goals by Josh Longardner was able make this possible.

The third period recorded low scores on both sides—15 total combined points. In the fourth, the game had both teams fighting very aggressive for the title. Uribes, on the Loco’s team, was hitting the basket quite well, making 80% of his free-throws. On the Archer side of the board, they were on the the line often with all the times they were fouled. Out of the 20 free shots, 13 were scored. The final score of the game was 54-51 with the Archers taking the game.
