The Kalida Wildcats travelled to the Palace on Saturday, January 30 to take on the Raiders boys basketball team. The JV game was the one to watch. It went into a double overtime before the Wildcats took the 59-56 win.

Following the JV game was the seniors basketball players and cheerleader who have represented the school quite well over the past four years.

The boys game began with the Raiders winning the tip and taking a strong early lead. The first four baskets for the home team were three point shots by Luke Miller, Brady Stabler and Ethan Linder. Before the end of the of that stretch, the Wildcats got back on their feet to finish the period 23-17.

The second time period wasn’t quite as intensive in offense because the defense picked up on both sides. The half finished at 35-25 in the home team’s favor.

The second half was all Raiders. Period three finished with the Raiders in the lead by 4 points and 7 points in the fourth. Luck Miller, Alec Vest and Ethan Linder were all on fire. Brady Stabler had racked up quite a set too.

The game finished with Wayne Trace winning by 21 points 64-43.

Wayne Trace now has a record of 11-6. Looking at the records, it’s interesting to see that the Raiders have only lost one home game. Five of the six losses has been on the other teams’ courts.
