Broughton Redneck Jamboree’s 10th Anniversary

Redneck3It all started 10 years ago when a few local folks decided they wanted to have a town picnic. That was the start of what is called the Broughton Redneck Jamboree. The first Jamboree had about 300-400 people at the gathering. Now, the locals say that there are more people than they can count. The towns’ people claim that about 800 people come to enjoy the Jamboree each year.

The Jamboree on Saturday, August 8th is a potluck carry-in meal so everyone can enjoy the good fixens’ people have provided. Everyone is encouraged to bring a covered dish so that there is plenty of food to go around. Entertainment is provided throughout the day, including music, games, raffles, drawings, 50/50, etc.

To keep the kids entertained there will be bouncy houses, face painting, balloon animals, arts & crafts and lots of games. The kids will have their own raffle, with prizes suited to just them.

To bring the evening to a close, fireworks will adorn the sky for all to enjoy.

The town of Broughton welcomes everyone to attend. And also reminds everyone to bring a covered dish to share, as well as your own lawn chair. And, while at the event, you may purchase Redneck Tshirt, and Koozies, signifying the 10th Anniversary of the event. As the Motto still holds true from our first jamboree, and now to our 10th year:

If you have ever lived in or near Broughton…..

Had friends from Broughton………..

Drove thru Broughton………….

Or wished you could live in Broughton……..

Then we have the Party for you ….
