Grover Hill Summerfest Announces Parade Marshalls

Don & Marge StahlThe Grover Hill Summerfest Parade is set for Saturday July 25th at 10 a.m. This year’s parade theme is “Homegrown on the Hill” with a red, white and blue color theme. The Grover Hill Summerfest parade committee is accepting parade entries for this year’s parade. There is no entry fee to participate in the parade. This is a great way to promote your business, club or local organization. Entry forms can be turned in during parade line-up. The parade line-up will start at 9:30 a.m. at Grover Hill Elementary School and proceed through town ending at the welcome park.
The 2015 Grover Hill Summerfest Parade Marshalls are Don and Marge Stahl. Don and Marge are lifelong residents of the Grover Hill community. They were high school sweet hearts and have been married for 62 years. They have two children, a son Dick Stahl and daughter Jodi (Jerry) Youngblutt and two grandchildren Fletcher and Shardi (Brant) Carrol all of which who reside in Indiana.
Don is a retired truck driver. He served in the Korean War for four years and is Korean War Veteran. He currently serves as the Chaplin of Grover Hill VFW Post 2873 and is a charter and lifetime member. Don has maintained the graveside flags of the 400 plus veterans buried in Latty and Washington Townships for the past 20 years. He was a firefighter for 39 years and is a lifelong member of Middle Creek United Methodist Church, where he is the chorus director. Don is also member of the Bottom of the Barrel Boys performing group. In his free time, Don enjoys reading, playing his guitar and eating Marge’s wonderful cooking.
Marge is a retired hairdresser, Wayne Trace School bus driver and motivational speaker. She was also on the Grover Hill EMS. In her free time, Marge enjoys crossword puzzles, playing euchre, going out to eat and watching Don and the Bottom of the Barrel Boys perform.
They are honored to be the 2015 Grover Hill Summerfest Parade Marshalls. They truly love living in Grover Hill. They said it is where they have always called home and it will be their forever home. They love the small town community they call Home!
