Chalk Walk offered again at Day in the Park

Artists young and old are invited to “paint” in chalk during the Day in the Park, August 8, 2015 in Antwerp.

This year’s theme for the Chalk Walk is “Here’s Antwerp”. So, what does this mean? Use your imagination… what is your image of Antwerp?

Children will have a great time creating with chalk on their own piece of black construction paper. All of the artwork will be displayed throughout the day and will be ready for parents to pick up by 4:00 p.m. Your masterpiece can be produced on multiple sizes of paper including: 8.5×11, 11×17, or 17×22. Basic colored chalk will be provided. For those wanting a greater color palette, please bring your own chalk.
A new feature is added this year to allow artists to express their image of Antwerp in a 2 ft. x 2 ft. board and sell their work! The rough surface board, pre-painted in white, will be sold to those wishing to have a larger, more permanent canvas and will not have restrictions on the kind of chalk that can be used.

For those choosing to use the board, their finished product can be included in the silent auction, with half the bidding price going to the artist and the other half as a donation to the Antwerp Chamber of Commerce.

Any chalk work submitted prior to the August 8th Day in the Park will be displayed in a downtown store front until the Day in the Park.

All of this fun will take place on August 8th in the Riverside Park. Children and those artists young of heart may come, participate and demonstrate your inner day Vinci to all in attendance.

Antwerp Chamber’s Day in the Park finalizes 2015 plans

The Antwerp Chamber of Commerce is getting plans finalized for this year’s Day In the Park. The Chamber hopes you all are making plans to attend. Michelle Dooley and Marilyn Provines are lining up the entertainment this year. They have some of the local favorites as well as some new area talent (They are working on some surprises too!).

Also back, will be the popular K-9 demonstration from the Paulding County Sheriff’s Department. In consideration of the K-9 dogs, as well as your own pets, the Chamber asks that you leave them home where they will be much safer and happier rather than in the middle of a crowd on a hot August day.

Your cooperation is appreciated.

If you have not turned in your paperwork for your vendor space please do so as soon as possible. The Chamber is looking forward to this community all enjoying a wonderful day together.
