Hospice Poker Run & Blessing of the Bikes: May 24

Motorcycle riders, Don Leininger (left), U.S. Air Force veteran William Paholak (center) and U.S. Army veteran James Raines will be supporting the CHP Hospice poker run this Sunday in Defiance.

About 200 motorcycle riders will be part of a poker run and fundraiser for the CHP Defiance Area Inpatient Hospice Center on Sunday, May 24 at Family Christian Center, 1834 E. Second St., Defiance.

There will be food, entertainment and a blessing of the bikes beginning at 11:00 a.m. There will be a car and motorcycle show at the Family Christian Center, with prizes being awarded. The public is encouraged to attend and is also invited to the church’s 9:00 a.m. or 11:00 a.m. Sunday services, featuring speaker Ben Priest.

The poker run start between 1:00-1:30 p.m. and will go from Defiance to Van Wert, Paulding, Bryan, Archbold and then back to Defiance. The poker run will end at 4:30 p.m. at the Compass, a non-profit community center at 320 Jackson Ave. in Defiance.

At the Compass following the poker run, there will be a hog roast and other food plus entertainment for riders and the public.
