Shoe Collection Drive Deemed a Success!

Funds2Org Shoe Collection Drive 2015
Family Health Care, a non-profit company located at 1052 S. Washington Street, Van Wert, Ohio recently held a shoe collection drive in collaboration with Funds2Orgs network; funds earned from the fundraiser will help to cover the cost of uninsured clients of Family Health Care that pay a minimum fee for their office visits.

The support of several area schools, churches, and organizations made the shoe drive a huge success! The original goal of 2500 pairs of shoes was surpassed by the final collection of 3,081 pairs, totaling 3,381 pounds of shoes.

Staff at Family Health Care would like to recognize these area organizations for their outstanding participation in the drive (and other participating organizations that wished to go unnamed):

Van Wert Elementary, Crestview, Lincolnview, Calvary Evangelical Church, and the Hospital Thrift Shop, Van Wert, OH; Parkway Local Schools, St. Teresa’s Catholic Church, Rockford United Methodist Church, Rockford, OH; Immaculate Conception School, Celina, OH; First United Methodist Church and the Hope Chest, Decatur, IN.

The shoe collection drive was a win-win for everyone. Local residents downsized extra shoes from their closets, and the donations were given a second chance by helping the less fortunate living in developing nations to become self-sufficient through the sale of those shoes. Proceeds from the shoe sales are used to feed, clothe and house their families.
