Local cross-state rivals took to the court for the final game of both the Antwerp and Woodlan for the 2014-2015 boys basketball season on Friday, February 27.

The game started with both teams having a good first quarter and Antwerp having a three point lead. Antwerp’s Trenton Copsey and Sam Williamson both had a quarter on the board.

It was the Warriors who hosted the game and had an excellent second period. Elyjah O’Hara and Andrew Krahn both picked up scores for the team and finished the quarter, taking the most points and ended up taking the lead back from the Archers for a halftime score of 25-30.

Third quarter once again went back to Antwerp at 16-14 and Josh Longardner and Brandon Pendergrast both had nice additions to the team. In one play, Antwerp’s Brandon Pendergrast looked like he was shooting the ball but instead he passed to the basket where Sam Williamson picked up the ball for a nice layup at the final second and narrowed the game within three points. The third finished with Woodlan still in the lead at 35-32.

It was the fourth quarter that sealed the deal for the Warriors. Deontae Jones was ready hitting the basket well while Evan Gustin was doing a great job blocking shots in the key. Outscoring Antwerp by 9 points gave Woodlan the win at 52-64

Score by the Quarter:
Antwerp – 14 11 16 11=52
Woodlan – 11 19 14 20=64
