Wallace L. Geyer

Wallace L. Geyer, age 92 died Saturday, January 17, 2015 at CHP Hospice, Defiance, OH.

He was born in Paulding County on July 22, 1922 the son of George A. and Ada (Whirrett) Geyer. On March 30, 1947 he married Alice Eileen Kauser, who preceded him in death on July 21, 1992. He was a self-employed farmer, a WWII US Army veteran and a Purple Heart recipient. He was a member of St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church, Paulding; VFW; and American Legion #253 Antwerp.

He is survived by two sons, Gregory L. (Charlene K.) Geyer, and Jerald H. (Donna J.) Geyer both of Antwerp; two daughters, Janice A. (Steven) Ouellette, Ft. Wayne, IN, and Cynthia S. (Lonnie) Keith, Houston, TX; five grandchildren; five great grandchildren; a sister, Virginia Polete, Ft. Wayne; two sisters-in-law, LaDonna Geyer, of Antwerp and Marjorie Mathias formerly of Ft. Wayne, IN; brother-in-law, John Henry (Anna) Kauser, Paulding; and special friend, Lodena Brown, Paulding.

He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Alice; a brother, George Geyer; a sister, Merium Bickhard; and a brother-in-law, Lynn Bickhard.

Funeral services will be conducted 11 AM Wednesday, January 21 at St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church, Paulding, with Rev. Karen Stetins officiating. Burial will follow in St. Paul Cemetery, Paulding County.

Visitation will be 2 – 5 PM and 6 – 8 PM Tuesday, January 20 at Den Herder Funeral Home, Paulding. There will also be visitation one hour prior to services at the church on Wednesday.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations made to Antwerp American Legion #253 or St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church, Paulding.
