OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERATuesday, January 6, the Paulding Panthers boys basketball team took on Delphos St. Johns at home. From the beginning, the game was quite the challenge for the home team. The Bluebirds were burning up the court in the first qurter, outscoring the Panthers 18-7. The second quarter they bounced back and kept the other team under control and tied in points with all the foul shots by Corbin Edwards, Brad Crawford, Treston Gonzales, and Ethan Rhonehouse. The first half finished at 21-32.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAPaulding struggled the rest of the game to make up for the first quarter shortage. Third quarter was another great period for Paulding but, not for gaining ground. It was good just in holding the Birds from flying too high.

By the fourth quarter, the Delphos team was back to their initial blue streak and pounded the court with shot after shot, scoring all but one foul shot. Sometimes desperate fouls help, but not in this case.

While the Bluejays hit 7 3-point baskets, the home team didn’t make any. Most of the shots were near the key.

Scorers of the Game:
Paulding – Corbin Edwards 15; Treston Gonzales 12; Alex Arellano 8; Brad Crawford 2; Jarrett Sitton 2; and Ethan Rhonehouse 1
