Convoy from Indiana destined for Husky Energy Lima Refinery
LIMA (Monday, November 10, 2014) – An oversized load traveling from Indiana into Ohio on Wednesday will slow traffic as it makes its way to the city of Lima.
Officials with the Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) are working with Barnhart Crane and Rigging, Memphis, Tenn., on the transport of a HIS reformer destined for Husky Energy Lima Refinery. The load measures 312 feet long, 24 feet wide, 18 feet tall and has a gross weight of 885,000 pounds.
The load will travel at an estimated 5-10 miles per hour and will be accompanied by an ODOT escort and the Ohio State Highway Patrol. The move is anticipated to be completed in one day but could possibly require two.
The convoy will begin moving at approximately 7 a.m. Wednesday and will travel east from Indiana on Ohio 81, south on Elgin Converse Road, south on Becker Road, south on St. Marys River Road, east on Ohio 197, south on Ohio 198, east on County Road 166, north on County Road 25A, north on South Dixie Highway and west on Buckeye Road to the refinery.
No road closures are anticipated, but motorists should expect delays given the slow speed of the load and the anticipated need for temporary stops of traffic.
Local law enforcement and emergency responders have been notified of the transport.
