Mayor Terry McDonald Declares a “Snow Advisory” Level in New Haven

Effective January 8, 2014 at 6:00 p.m.

New Haven, Indiana – Mayor Terry McDonald of New Haven has downgraded the City of New Haven from a “Snow Watch” and declared a “Snow Advisory” (the lowest travel advisory level) in New Haven effective at 6:00 p.m. this evening.

A “Snow Advisory” is the lowest travel advisory level. Routine travel or activities may be restricted in areas because of a hazardous situation. Individuals should use caution or avoid these areas.

Mayor McDonald said, “Residents are asked to use caution as they travel throughout the area for their safety.”

EMERGENCY SNOW ROUTES

City Ordinance prohibits vehicles from being parked at any time along snow emergency routes during the period of any level snow emergency. Any police officer upon discovering any such vehicle parked or stopped in violation of the emergency order may remove such vehicle or cause the same to be removed.

This Snow Advisory shall continue in effect until the Mayor determines that this advisory no longer exists and terminates such advisory notification.
