Donald H. Adams, age 79

Adams, Donald picDonald H. Adams, age 79 died Friday, November 15, 2013 at the Laurels of Defiance, Defiance, Ohio.

He was born in Latty, Ohio, on December 25, 1933, the son of James H. and Grace E. (Finnegan) Adams. He grew up in Grover Hill area, attended Hoaglin-Jackson School and spent the last two years at Van Wert High School graduating in 1951. He served in the U.S. Army from 1955 – 1956. On October 5, 1958 he married Judith Kay Parson, who survives. He was employed by LaFarge Cement Plant, Paulding; Aeroquip Corporation in Van Wert and West Los Angeles, California; and retired from G.M. Central Foundry, Defiance in 1990 after 30 years of service. He was a lifetime member of VFW Post#587, Paulding.

Donald is also survived by a daughter, Lori L. Lytle, West Liberty, OH; a son, Eric (Denise) Adams, Canfield, OH; five grandchildren: Scott (Amanda) Hartwick, Mindy (Sylvester) Torres, Christopher Adams, Lauren Adams, and Tina (Matt) Keeran; step grandson, Rob (Audrey) Blevins; great grandchildren: Nathan Hartwick, Elijah Roscom; and Brayden Keeran; step grandchildren: Kelsey and Serenity Blevins, and Maria and Alexis Martinez; half brother, Arthur (Mary) Finnegan; and four half sisters, Linda, Carol, Treva, and Ruth.

He is preceded in death by his father; mother; step father, Clifford Pate; and daughter, Kristy Kay, who died in 1983.

He enjoyed spending winters in Florida, playing golf and shuffleboard. He learned the art of wood carving, and enjoyed making many birds, ducks, etc. He loved spending time with his children and grandchildren

Funeral services at 11 AM Tuesday, November 19 at Den Herder Funeral Home, with military graveside rites accorded by VFW Post #587.

Visitation will be 2 – 8PM Monday, November 18 and one hour prior to services on Tuesday at Den Herder Funeral Home, Paulding.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations made to Parkinson Society of North West Ohio; Community Health Professionals of Paulding; or the Don Adams Family.
