Juanita Marjorie Hyman,

PAULDING:  Juanita Marjorie Hyman, 94 of Paulding, Ohio, passed away peacefully Monday, April 1, 2013 surrounded by her loving family at Community Health Professionals Hospice, Van Wert, Ohio.

She was born July 2, 1918 in Allen County, Ohio, the daughter of James M. and Charity (Wright) Jacobs.  On December 23, 1939 she married Harvey E. Hyman, who preceded her in death January 17, 2000.

She is survived by three sons:  David A. (Jacqueline) Hyman of Paulding, OH, Geoffrey L. (Bonnie) Hyman of Payne, OH, and H. Douglas (Paula) Hyman of Lima, OH; one daughter, Cara Lou (Charles A. ) Strahley, of Paulding; a brother, James M. (Helen) Jacobs of Middleton, N.J.; grandchildren:  Gregory Hyman, Sarah E. (Tim) Bernhardt, Angela M. (Tony) Zartman, Scott A. Strahley, Michael G. Hyman, Julie N. Hyman, Rachel (Greg) Parrett, Erin Hyman, Gretchen Hyman, Harvey D. (Caci) Hyman and James M. (Katherine) Hyman; great grandchildren; great-great grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

Marjorie is also preceded in death by her parents.

Before her marriage she was employed as an assistant in the trust department at National Bank of Lima, and after marriage worked for a time as a secretary in her husband’s law office.  Marjorie was an active member of the First Presbyterian Church of Paulding, and its women’s groups and couple’s groups.  She was selected as a volunteer Gray Lady at the Paulding County Hospital; served one year as the Paulding County Fair Secretary; and as a baseball league treasurer.  Memberships included Daughters of the American Revolution, Eastern Star, John Paulding Historical Society, Ladies Literary Society and the Current Event Club.

Funeral services will be conducted 11 AM Saturday, April 6 at First Presbyterian Church, Paulding, with Rev. David Meriwether officiating.  Burial will follow in Pleasant Grove Cemetery, Paulding.

Visitation will be on Friday, April 5 from 2 – 8 PM at Den Herder Funeral home and one hour prior to services on Saturday at the First Presbyterian Church.

Memorial contributions may be made to First Presbyterian Church or Paulding County Junior Fair Board to benefit 4-H.
