O’Dell Williams

O’Dell C. Williams, 87, of Payne passed away Wednesday, December 12,
2012 at The Gardens of Paulding.
O’Dell was born in Payne on July 18, 1925, a son of the late Gladys
(Zartman) and Vernon Williams.
He proudly served in the U.S. Navy in WW II. He worked at Armstrong
Implement in Payne and had been the Mayor & Fire chief of Payne.
O’Dell was a member of Saint Jacob’s United Church of Christ, the Flat
Rock Masonic Lodge #580 & Payne American Legion Post 297.
In Dec, 1946 he married Helen Gibson, who died in Dec, 2004.
He will be sadly missed by his sons, Dennis (Deborah) of Payne & David
of Indianapolis; brother, Keith (Mary) & granddaughter, Carrie both of
Payne.
Also preceding him in death is his son, Jimmy.
Viewing is Friday, 4-8 pm, with Masonic rites at 7 pm at Dooley Funeral
Home, 202 W. River Street, Antwerp.
His service is at Saint Jacob’s United Church of Christ, Payne, at 11
am, with viewing one hour prior on Saturday, December 15, 2012. Rev.
James Langham will officiate.
He will be laid to rest at Lehman Cemetery, with military honors.
