AGRONOMY DAY IN PAULDING COUNTY

The Paulding and Van Wert County Extension offices are co-hosting an Agronomy Day Program on Friday January 27, 2012 in the Paulding County Extension Building. Registration begins at 8:00 a.m. and the program is scheduled from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

The program will provide local agency updates from the SWCD, the Natural Resources Conservation Service, and the Farm Service Agency. The remaining morning sessions will feature Pierce Paul, Extension Specialist Plant Pathology, discussing “Wheat Head Scab” and Andy Michel, Extension Specialist Entomology, reviewing “Insect Concerns for 2012.” After lunch Harold Watters, Agronomy Field Specialist, will look at “The Basics and Stretch to Get Beyond Average Yields,” Greg LaBarge, Agronomy Field Specialist, will look at “Phosphorous Fertilization and Water Quality Concerns,” and the final presentation will be given by Bruce Clevenger, Extension Educator, on “Controlled Drainage and Its Impact on Water Quality.”
